Denim Dilemma and Pretty Butterfly

Yesterday was a rollercoaster of a weather day with bright sunshine one minute to pouring rain with hail the next. Good day to stay inside and quilt. Unfortunately, my sewing machine and I were not getting along so I needed to find something else to do. Up from the basement came the two boxes of jeans that I have been saving the past few years and I spent hours cutting them up.

Now I just need to figure out what I am going to do with them.

My son is going to a birthday party on Sunday for one of the girls in his preschool. I had her handprints from a quilt I made using the handprints from all the kids in the class for a silent auction benefiting the school. I used her handprints to make this butterfly, quilted it and stapled it around a canvas frame for easy hanging. She likes butterflies and pink. My son picked some Polly Pocket cars as his gift to her.
