Finished Camp Loopy Project 2

Friday night I finished knitting the Elfe top I was making as my July project for Camp Loopy. Finally got some pictures taken yesterday. I love this top. It feels great. I'd like to make it again in different colour combinations - black and white, red and purple and maybe even a solid.

Instead of cutting the yarns at each stripe I carried them. Partly because I was afraid I'd run out of yarn and because I didn't want to weave in all those ends. At the bottom you can see what it looks like on the inside compared to the "seam" that appears on the outside.

Looking forward to starting project 3 on Thursday.

Too many projects?

Here's my progress on my July Camp Loopy project. I took this picture Monday morning. I've done 18 rows since with 30 left to go. Loving it.

Uh-oh. Looks like the baby ordered some yarn again.

And joined the Cotton Club at The Loopy Ewe.

The blue is for this cardigan which will be my August Camp Loopy project. This will be a gift for my friend Mary who turns 40 in September.

With just a bit of detail at the top I'm hoping this knits up quick. It will be nice to use something other than fingering weight yarn.

The red is for this cardigan for my mom. I've already shown her the pattern so I can show it here too. I'll be starting this today or tomorrow as part of the Summer Sweater Knit-Along hosted by Luv in the Mommyhood. The KAL goes until Sept. 18th so I hope to have both cardigans done by then. Then onto Christmas knitting. This cardigan is named for Dundurn castle in Hamilton and has cables on the front and back to keep it interesting.

Monday was spent crocheting with my daughter. She made an egg for the baby.

Our little Eggman.

I made him a gecko. Pattern here.

We don't have any safety eyes so we left them faceless.

Finally got a hold of it. Will buy some safety eyes for our future creations.

My older son has been crafty too. I gave him a piece of felt and he drew a dragon on it with fabric markers. He then sewed it close and stuffed it.

He requested this crocheted mug made by his sister. He refused to smile for the picture.

Picking her next project. She has 4 books from the library.

More egg fun yesterday.

A finish, a burn and some knitting

I finally did some sewing earlier this month and put together this cloth book for our little guy.

I think the Quail is one of my favourites. They are one of the few things I miss from our time in Idaho.

We had company last week and Floyd was given this knitted blanket. Thanks again Cathy.

On Saturday July 6th, I burned my arm on the oven moving a lasagna to make room for some garlic bread. I took this picture the day after.

And I took another picture this Sunday, a week later. It is healing well. See the lovely pink rectangle around it? That would be my skin reacting to the bandage. Very itchy. I only wear band-aids to bed since the sheets rubbing the burn doesn't feel very nice, but it itches like crazy. Who thought I'd have a reaction to band-aids?

To keep my hands busy and not scratching my arm, I've been knitting. Making good progress on my July Camp Loopy project. I'm further than this now (picture taken on Sunday), I've done another 18 rows. Have about 80 rows to go.

Progress

I've been getting some things done but not much time to blog about them. Created a yarn cake snowman after winding some yarn last week. The yellow and orange are for my July Camp Loopy project - more details below. The blue is one of 8 skeins I picked up at a Black Friday sale in Idaho almost 2 years ago. I wound this one as it started to fall apart when I touched it the other day.

I finished the first in a pair of short socks for me. I had wanted to make myself 3 pairs to wear this summer but only completed one before the baby arrived.

Hope to cast on the second one this month.

Here is the yarn with the pattern for my July Camp Loopy project.

Off to a good start. Glad I decided to do yellow as the top colour. We have company next week and at the end of the month so I hope to get some time to work on it this weekend. It would be nice to have the sleeves done by Sunday evening.
